almost every day i think about writing a facebook post or making an instagram reel or tiktok or something, voicing my frustration about this lightning-fast, gimme-dopamine-in-four-seconds-or-i’ll-keep-scrolling culture that social media has created.
and then. i realize that it probably would never get seen by the people who actually need to see it.
sure, some of the folks i’ve already connected with (within my sphere of like, 400 followers) would appreciate it, but like these folks already know me and get me and expect that of me.
but how do i find more people who want to slow down? i am tired of attempting to tailor my content to fit a snappy 2-second blurb that i have to use to even get you to stop scrolling in the first place.
so i am trying this. a different form of media, in which you must slow down. the one where the people who are also tired of the social media stranglehold are already at. a blog. so i don’t overwhelm my email list with whatever passing thoughts are running through my brain.
like, i’ve already got a website. i just have to use the blog function already available to me.
so yeah. here i am. i feel lighter, writing this, being able to stretch my limbs. not feeling so constrained to 2200 characters or less.
hope to have you around awhile.
